The addiction to Porn and Masturbation needs to be treated in the body of Christ as seriously and strongly as the addiction to Hard Drugs and Alcohol is treated. If not more. This spirit is cunning, it has latched itself on to so many “trivial” and familiar things we set our eyes on, hear, feel, and interact with. It is not talked about as a deep addiction, it’s “normal”, “healthy” but it’s one spirit that not only is impure, It does not come alone, it comes with its friends: “guilt”, “failure”, “shame”, “secrecy”. It stifles the believer’s fellowship with the only source of purity: The Holy Spirit, “shame” crushes the thought of opening up to godly influences because this spirit thrives in secrecy.

If the believer leaves this unchecked, and with the wrong counsel evolves past feeling guilt and shame to “accept” this spirit as one with them: A Stronghold has been formed. The enemy has succeeded in the deceit, taken captive again he who Christ has set free. It is NOT WHO YOU ARE!

Purity is demanded in the kingdom of God. Your body is the Temple. God will not ask us to do something unachievable. Purity is achievable and it has already been granted to us. 2 Corinthians 5:17; you are new.

This is warfare and we do not wrestle flesh and blood. It is not trivial. You know when the battle begins in the mind, do not stop renewing that mind! Do not stoop to lap up water on the battlefield. Be on guard! Put on your armor. If you get hit, GET UP!! OPEN UP!! Receive godly counsel. Keep yourself accountable. Open your mouth both to speak to that filthy spirit and to God. It is not a “mind prayer” it is open fire war! The enemy is trying to steal the joy of your freedom. The enemy is trying to still your joy! Get angry at it! You have been set free!

Come to the Holy Spirit (Hebrews 4:16), whether you think you feel remorseful or not (Not feeling remorse is a tactic too). Open up to the Holy Spirit’s convictions and chastisement. Listen to the communication of God’s love. Let the word of God illuminate your understanding. Get back into the battlefield armed with the sword of truth.

The block is hot! We are already packing heat! Open up your mouth and fire! Wake up!

If you have identified godly influences/friends/communities that you can open up to, pray with and that will keep you accountable…it may feel uncomfortable at first but there is a relief that comes from opening up. I said “godly” so this will not just be anyone…the spirit is cunning.
